I am a subcontractor, working for myself.
I have just started working as an independent staffing manager for the last three weeks. This job is commission only and based on 1-2 placements every 60 - 90 days.
You will need to have money put aside because the commissions on the average are paid out after 90 days of placement of the candidate.

The issue of being self employed fails to allow me to advance my career because of the supply and demands in the corporate field being over filled. The opportunity is not there any more due to the job status in the USA
Working for yourself from home can be great for the right person. Have to be self-directed and independent oriented.
I worked hard to get where I am. I am a diligent, goal oriented, thorough, ethical person who loves to work with people.

due to the incosistancy of the economy being self employed gives you good training but sometimes the pay is sporadic

Working from home is great, but I do enjoy having more people contact plus the stability is up and down depending on the need and the economy.
