To engage your employees in their work, it's important to reward them, and show them the results of their work. It's important for them to have a sense of satisfaction from what they do in their jobs.

Talented employees are

more likely to consider leaving organisations where the management style is rigid, bureaucratic, risk

avoidant, directive and reactive. In addition to these factors, talented employees expect:

• leaders to demonstrate that decisions are consistent with the values and objectives of the organisation;

• leaders to encourage an environment of constant learning; and

• that all employees are treated with respect.

In my opinion Talent Engagement has to do with matching the right person to the work to be completed.

Empowering an employee so they have ownership of their position. It encourages an employee to take pride in their work and also to take responsibility for it.

Showing an employee how their work relates to the larger scheme of the overall workplace can also motivate and engage an employee.

I also agree with klwinsor rewards are important. They don't have to be extravagant as long as their perceived value is adequate to the receiver.

Not all methods of engagement will work for all employees. We are unique human beings.
