Hi All,

I found this great opportunity in Organizational Development with a healthcare provider. I have a strong resume and a master's in organizational development, but limited experience in HR.

I applied for the position through the recruiting site do you thin this is enough? Is it acceptable to contact the CHRO and give him/her my resume and cover letter so that I would enjoy more visibility?

Any advice is welcome.

Regards,

Diana

Hi Diana,

Yes, I do believe it would be acceptable for you to contact the CHRO, after all, you want to be noticed. An informational interview may be a good approach as opposed to simply handing in another resume. Ask some pointed questions about the role, describe your training and experience and ask if they see a match. Of course, have your resume handy for when s/he does ask for it.

Following up on your initial application is also an important step, making contact to confiorm their reciept of your application is a good lead in and then clarrifying with them that they have had the opportunity to review it. The next question in your follow up may be "does it look like I have the skills and qualifications you are looking for?" If they say no, simply ask what you need to improve upon to be a more suitable candidate for them. This way, if there is something you have missed on your resume, you have the opportunity to inform them and possibly updtae your resume and resend.

All the best to you, let me know how it goes!

Warm Regards,

Kathline
